FUNKO'S IRON MAN MARK-1 BOBBLE-HEAD

SuperheroTimes has unveiled the MARK-1 Wacky Wobbler from FUNKO (last featured as a drawing) along with the MARK-3 wobbler (shown here) ... and frankly, it actually looks pretty cool, and would make a pretty decent super-deformed vinyl toy if it was a tad more articulated and dynamically posed, wouldn't it? IMHO, of coz :)

WHO'D MAKE A GOOD 1/6TH MARK-1?

so okay, if anybody's ever going to make a 1/6th-scaled version of the Mark-One
(from the Iron Movie) - i'd rather it be made by Hot Toys


and i don't even really care (much) for the headsculpt within (Tony Stark) - as long as the armor and moving-bits are weathered as beautifully, and the details insane'o. Hot Toys have recently been pretty much the IT-producers of detailed 1/6th, IMHO [tagged] - consider their recent track-record with mecha-themed products, like Aliens Power Loader, even ED209 (Robocop) and even Ex Machina,


sure Medicom could give it a go, but it may not be as weathered (of coz i could self-weather, but given the regular price-points, why would you wanna work even harder?). Takara may indeed give it a good go (but the price points may yet slap me down LOL) ... SideShowToys will be my next close choice ... and who else is there? existing players? (just imagine for a moment Hasbro is not involved, yeh? as hawt as how Mark-3 looked :p) ... or perhaps even brand new ones? = what do YOU think?

frankly, im not (too) much of a blister-carded-toy-man (those were yonks ago LOL) but this series of 5 Iron Man movie-figures from Hasbro might get my blood-pumping for some carded-goodness again - featuring Iron Men: Mark-1, Mark-3 and we finally get to see how Mark-2 looks like! (so much for celluloid-surprises ~ *heh*) and Iron Monger! = schweet* ... now if only someone'll release 12"-er versions of them = then my IM-collection would be complete LOL

IRON MAN TEASED

i've been watching the Iron Man teaser video (shown during the SDCC Marvel Studios / Iron Man-panel) over and over again quite a few times - i couldn't help but be both excited and irked at the same time = marveled by the possibilities of the mecha-visuals unfolding triumphantly before us ... and be confounded by the utter-darkness that fills the (tilted) screen most times (which i've foolishly labored to photoshop screengrabs LOL)...here's hoping the "official" teaser will hit soon :)

but are shot with practical armor, designed and made by Stan Winston = *cool*

tis no small wonder why im getting excited over the movie!
(really hope it doesn't suck as bad as Spiderman 3 did tho, IMHO...) *bleh*

MARK-1 ARMOR REVEALED @ SDCC 2007

revealed@SDCC:

the crate has been 'official' opened and both Newsarama and Wizard Universe
were there to capture the moment... (and placate my beating heart :p)

... i realize i might just be liking this armor a tad too much? ... *bleh*

someone had better be making a kick-a$$ 1/6th-version of this soon!

- The Mandarin is confirmed as one of Iron Man's nemesis [Jon Favreau interviewed on AICN]

- "They've wrapped principal photography and because they used so many practical FX--they actually built a suit and haven't done any CG on the footage (that was shown@SDCC) and a lot of it was in-camera--they were able to show so much. They're pulling the CGI together with ILM" [via]
