Sideshow Toy Comic-Con Exclusive GUNMETAL GREY IRON MAN MARK 3 in 1/6 by Hot Toys

Sideshow Toys offers up a Comic-Con Exclusive GUNMETAL GREY color variant Iron Man Mark 3 1/6 action figure by Hot Toys for the upcoming San Diego Comic-Con in July! Looking abso-cool in gunmetal grey (duh) and a little battle-damaged distressed treatment for that extra awesome-touch, IMHO. I've been following the Gunmetal Grey Mark 3 for a while on my TRE-Blog, and this is the first time the images are fully revealed by Sideshow. (Full product specs to come during order period).

Two ways to pre-order this sweetness: via Comic-Con ATTENDEE and NON-ATTENDEE (Attendee = pickup at Comic Con itself / Non = delivered to you). And if you've not ordered from SSC, there is a slight price difference.

Order Dates / Price:
- ATTENDEE Priority Pre-Orders begin this Thursday, May 21st 2009, from 10:00AM to 12:00PM (Pacific Time) - Priced at US$179.99
- NON-ATTENDEE Priority Pre-Orders begin this Friday, May 22nd 2009, from 10:00AM to 12:00PM (Pacific Time) - Priced at US$189.99

Loads of folks have alluded this to being "War Machine", but I reckon if there would be one, it would be a screen-accurate version - IF and/or when it appears in Iron Man 2, IMHO :)

IRON MAN 2 OFFICIAL FIRST IMAGE

USA Today unveils the first "official" image from IRON MAN 2 [via MovieWeb] showing the illustrious inventor billionaire in the foreground (probably twittering and stressed that folks have been un-following him) and a row of Iron Man armor variants in the background = *COOL*

IRONMANFAN

Robert Downey Jr. returns as billionaire "Tony Stark" aka Iron Man (no secret identity issues here, as he outed himself in the first movie). Reoccurring characters include Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper-"I-nearly-slept-with-my-boss"-Potts, and Samuel L. Jackson as guest-star-at-credits'-end "Nick Fury" of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Terrance Howard has been replaced by Don Cheadle as "Col. James 'Rhodey' Rhodes" (aka "War Machine" in the comics). Amidst all the internet-rumours swirling thus far (I read but not post) - the sequel seemed to have taken on a more Soviet-flavour with the inclusion of Scarlett Johansson as super-spy "Natasha Romanoff" aka Black Widow, and Mickey Rourke as "Ivan" aka Whiplash (not Crimson Dynamo as everyone had hoped, it seems. And "Whiplash" is a woman in the comics). Sam Rockwell rounds out the "villains" as fellow-billionaire and Stark-Industries-competitor "Justin Hammer". [All info via IM2-IMDB credits].

Will be updating both TOYSREVIL and this dedicated-movie fanblog with anything and everything IRON MAN 2 movie and toy news to come - leading up to the film's premiere in 2010. PM me info and news at toysrevil@yahoo.com :)

IRON MAN MOVIE REVIEWED

Superhero/Comicbook-adapted movies has come to the forefront of the general consciousness and media acceptance (altho not totally "understanding-of") and has never been as hyped and marketed as they do in this day and age, what with multiple Viral marketing, promotions and a deluge of coverage that threatens to engulf online netizens (least of me my humble blog LOL) who dwell in this particular www-realm, for sure the genre is carving out it's own niche in celluloid-history, it remains some time before it's acceptance into the pantheons of "recognized filmmaking" (via the traditionalists and thespians) is as accepted and welcomed, as the fans of this genre, IMHO. With vaulted peers as The Dark Knight, Hulk, The Watchmen and it's ilk, IRON MAN stands poised to go down in history as the movie that did ... as for what it actually did, I'd only dare to speculate on it's intent and reactions, by my own personal opinion. And hopefully, when YOU folks have seen the movie, we could all geek-out over it together :)

I'd personally managed to catch the 11:30AM screening on April 30th @ Cathay Cinema in Downtown East's E!Hub - CLICK HERE (link to my primary blog) to read my humble review (including ***SPOILERS***) and long-ramble about the movie :)

**DO NOTE: Please stay until the end of Credit Roll to see a "Surprise Prologue Sequence" involving Tony and Nick - 'nuff said!

MAN-HANDLING THE MONGER

MONGER001
should be called the "IRON BEAST" instead of "Iron MONGER", IMHO :p
